Charles Thompson’s Comments:

The Big Match of April 2006 has brought about some interesting comments with respect to the match itself. While several of our on-line participants have been involved in giving comments with respect to the games played. I, of course have had my input with the games through my “Pecan’s” Analysis.

Additionally, Top Masters, Charlie Brown, Jake Kacher, and Al Harrison have, from time to time, offered some interesting comments on the subject.

By far, the most popular topic (judging by responses to them) has been Mr. Clarence Gooche’s “Search for the Truth” series. As he explains it, Mr. Gooche is using the latest computer programs, books, word of mouth, and any other mechanism he can use to find the ”Truth” as to whether the games were played, (if for a lack of a better term) “perfectly.” It’s a laudable exercise, and Mr. Gooche is to be applauded for his approach. We wish him well in this endeavor.

I for one will be looking to see if I can offer some suggestions in this final “Truth” search.   Hopefully others will all join with us in this endeavor.  Personally, I would like to see more input from the Masters and Jr. Master players and others.  The search then,  will have become a universal effort.

-I am hopeful of seeing all at the tournament-
